Meet the Teachers |
Meet the TeachersAnna GibbsAnna Gibbs has been a part of Wonderland Preschool for over 22 years, the licensed director for nearly 20 of those years. Beyond her love of children, she brings to the program strong experience in early childhood education, which began with a degree in art education and commercial art from Notre Dame College in 1976. Anna continues to develop her education to this day through early childhood courses and workshops. Since young children learn through playing, Anna uses her creative art background to fashion games and activities to assist with the mastering of new skills. Anna and her husband have two grown sons and four grandsons. Over the years with her family she has been involved with the First Congregational Church of Pembroke, Cub Scouts, 4-H, Friends of Music in the Pembroke Schools, camping, and arts and crafts. She has run in-home childcare, owned her own craft business, worked as the church secretary, and taught the after-school program in Pembroke. Through all this, Anna still has time for her love of art. As you look around the classrooms you will see much of her handiwork, which she shares with the children, whose artistic beginnings she is proud to nurture. Lynda PutnamLynda Putnam has been with Wonderland Preschool since 2004 and is excited to continue growing with the preschool. Lynda finds great joy in helping children grow into responsible, caring members of society. She holds a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education from New Hampshire Technical College and a degree in Accounting and Data Processing from Heald Business College in California. Lynda and her husband are active members of their community and find great satisfaction in being involved with many Pembroke organizations. Lynda has been involved as a leader with Cub Scouts, a Sunday school teacher, and a coach of soccer and baseball. She has also taken a strong interest in her children’s education in the Pembroke schools by being a part of the PALS (Parents Action League) program and a classroom volunteer at their schools. Lynda enjoys and appreciates music, art, books, science, culture, and health. Through these enjoyments she is able to enrich her children’s lives and continue to grow in her own. Lynda believes in nurturing children by embracing their individual talents and expanding on their new discoveries. Her philosophy in working with preschoolers is growth enhanced through floor play. There is no better way to get to know a child than getting down and engaging in their play. Whether the child wants to be reading, singing, dancing, drawing, playing games, or just simply relaxing, then that’s what it takes to nurture their inner abilities to grow as an individual. Kids love it when you are seeing eye to eye with them and you foster their inner spirits by doing this. Lynda loves children and would be happy to be a part of your child’s love for learning. |
